SaaS Startups to Watch Out for in 2023 - Part 2
Our picks for this month’s SaaS startups to watch out for in 2023 are SimpleScents, FemtoFire, and Craoi.
We'll dive deep into each startup's background, features, and potential for success in the coming year. So, whether you're an investor or someone interested in the latest developments in the SaaS industry, this blog will provide you with valuable insights into three of the most promising SaaS startups of 2023.
The first is SimpleScents, a fragrance discovery platform, they provide customers with a monthly supply of their chosen designer fragrance from a catalog of over 150 fragrances from 35 different brands. Their supplies are designed to last the month, each bottle is 8ml or 140 sprays, which comes in luxury travel cases, so you can spritz on the go. Founded by Niall Brennan, his goal being allowing customers to have a more fun and personal experience rather than the traditional way. He wished for customers to have the chance to try out new fragrances on a regular basis before committing to buying the expensive full bottle. SimpleScents was born to help make the luxury fragrance industry more accessible and convenient. They are a B2C company who have just launched their beta website in August and have seen a strong growth, whilst adding new features.
In December they introduced their gifting option where users can gift a 3,6, or 12 month subscription, and a checkout option that will allow users to browse the catalog of fragrances and purchase the products without a subscription.
The second company is FemToFire, they are a forest fire risk assessment system, with an online platform that has a topographical map that actively locates and identifies fire risks within the forest itself. With an installed early warning push notification system, users are always aware of the fire risk, this allows managers and other forestry professionals to quickly and easily identify areas of a high fire risk. The founder, Louis Walsh, started this company after the devastating fire that happened in Killarney National Park. Louis realised that Irish forests too can be threatened by fires and came up with the system that is aimed at preventing fires before they happen.
They are a B2B company that is currently in the pre-seed stage but will be looking to raise in the coming months, they will be aiming for €250,000 to allow them to further their product development and improve their marketing.
The third and final company is Craoi, they are a revolutionary digital solution that is redesigning workplace wellbeing to allow for the full potential of people to be unlocked. Craoi uses machine learning to deliver personalised well-being content across four holistic pillars: Movement, Mindfulness, Nutrition and Happiness. Clodagh Ryan founded this company during the pandemic as she found herself working in a fast paced corporate role that became very aggressive due to revenue targets. She could feel herself heading towards burnout, luckily she is a qualified health & wellness coach. She managed to find balance and spoke to her friends & colleagues and realised they too were feeling the pressure.
Their MVP solution is live on the market with paying customers and are currently moving into MMP phase 1 release this year. Craoi’s digital platform has been further developed to a point where they can now onboard a larger number of businesses and users.
