Get to Know Team ROW

The team here in Republic of Work has been growing steadily in the past few months. You’ve probably seen some of our faces across our social media channels, or on various programmes. Well, we thought it's about time that we dug a little deeper. In this blog, we’ll introduce you to Team RoW on a more personal level.

Frank :

So first up is the head honcho of Team RoW. He is the CEO and face of Republic of Work. I’m talking about Frank, a man who has been here since the very beginning. He has witnessed all the ups and downs, and is no head of the whole magic show, witnessing RoW flourish into the excellent place it has become.

In his spare time, which isn’t as frequent these days since he is now a father of 3 beautiful daughters, you’ll see him pretending he’s going for the yellow jersey in the Tour de France. He also enjoys DIY, kayaking, and complaining about the weights in the gym being too heavy. But most importantly, he loves spending time with his lovely wife and kids.

Yvonne:

Up next is the organisation queen herself, Yvonne. She recently returned to her role as Office Manager after having a gorgeous baby girl. Yvonne makes sure that RoW is running smoothly, and trust me when I say, nothing gets past our "Vonnie"!

She assists the whole gang in any way she can. She’s the first point of contact when you arrive in our space, so you know that you’ll be met by a friendly face. When she isn’t wearing her superwoman suit in RoW, you’ll find Yvonne enjoying her free time by dabbling in arts and crafts, bingeing on Netflix, spoiling her dog Lola, but mainly spending time with her daughter and husband.

Caroline:

Next up we have our Operations Manager, Caroline. Another person that makes sure that RoW is running like a well-oiled machine. Originally from the dodgy ends of North West London, you would be surprised to find she is a very nice and approachable person. She swapped the ganglife of London for the little town of Cahersiveen and, later, the epic city of Cork.

Caroline is involved in everything to do with the daily operations, but outside of the building you’ll find her feeding her addiction to stripy t-shirts, enjoying a nice pint of Murphys in The Cornerhouse or stealing her sister's dog Toby for some much needed puppy therapy!

Sarah:

Sarah is the youngest of the three ‘children’ in team RoW, but don’t let that take away from her title of sales queen. Sarah is involved in memberships, customer success, and everything in between. She is the first person you meet in regards to your membership, and will find the exact solution you’re looking for before you even know it yourself.

Once a basketball superstar, (comparisons to a female Steph Curry have been made) she ultimately fell out of love with the game. And oh what a shame. She then turned her interest to the gym and is now lifting heavier weights than Frank. Outside of RoW, you’ll find Sarah adding to her shoe collection, chilling with her goddaughter and enjoying a cheeky Gin & 7up Free.

Colin:

Colin is the middle child of three here in RoW. He is our Marketing Executive, making up half of our dynamic duo for marketing.

He was a sporting phenom, playing at the highest levels in soccer, whilst also excelling in GAA and rugby, but unfortunately, due to his string of shocking injuries and his rise to Tik-Tok fame, he had to call it a day.

Nowadays, you’ll find Colin living the retirement lifestyle at a tender age, playing golf at Douglas Golf Club. Outside of RoW, you’ll find him spending the warm summer days in a beer garden with a strawberry daiquiri in hand, adding to his shoe collection, and unlike Frank, Colin thinks the weights in the gym are too light. If you’re ever looking for Colin in the evening, it had better be before 9 o’clock, as he’ll be glued to Love Island.

Nnenna:

Nnenna is our Senior Marketing Executive and loves telling people she’s Colin’s boss!

She is the eldest of the three ‘children’ here in RoW, and supposedly the most sensible. She is a Clare native but spent her formative years across Galway, Dublin, and San Francisco, and has now ended up back in the rebel county and has become a proper Cork boi.

She is always up for a good time. This could involve going out for a few drinks (a crisp white wine, or more recently, a pint of Murphys are her faves), heading on road trips, taking cold dips in the sea, and most importantly, sampling local cuisine. Nnenna tries to say she is not into Love Island but is always up-to-date when the topic comes up. Psychoanalysing reality TV is an important job — someone's gotta do it!

Eshna:

Eshna is the most recent to join team ROW. Her role is Programme Manager, meaning she heads up NDRC and the Teamwork Catalyst programme!

She had to settle into her position quickly as she was thrown straight into it, with First Fridays for Startups and Founder Weekend running within weeks of her start date. She is a massive fan of Deeptech, Sustainability, Biotechnology and New Technologies.

She has led conversations on each of those topics and has been on panel discussions at several local and global conferences. She is an avid blogger and loves writing about new trends in the ecosystem. Outside of RoW, you’ll find her drinking lots of tea, dreaming about Izz Cafe & Pizza, and spending hours on the phone with her family and friends back in India.

After reading this blog you’ll have a better understanding of what the team here in ROW get up to when we’re not working. Hopefully you might’ve found out you had more in common with some us than you thought before, which could potentially lead to new conversations and new friendships down the line.
